While he does make some questionable statements, such as,
“So since nobody knows how Kasparov’s brain does it–least of all Kasparov himself–there is not yet any evidence at all that Kasparov’s means are so very unlike the means exploited by Deep Blue.”
it’s still a fairly interesting piece.

Des Moines Open

The Des Moines Open on August 4th, 2007 saw 29 players show up from 3 different states to participate. The prize fund was increased, class prizes were raised by 60%, and a good time was had by all.
